According to Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister for Energy and Sustainability Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the COP29 summit in Baku has the potential to make a substantial contribution to the global renewable energy agenda. Balalaa emphasised the transformative implications of these choices during her remarks at the Energy Transition Investment Forum for Central Asia, which was part of the COP29 proceedings.
Sincere Dedications to Renewable Energy by 2033
Balalaa emphasised that many nations have recently made significant pledges to renewable energy. “Many nations are focussing on actionable steps for the next decade, aiming to fulfil ambitious energy transition goals by 2033,” he said. These pledges are intended to solve urgent energy issues and be in line with global sustainability goals.

One of the main objectives of the COP29 is to produce 11 terawatts of renewable energy by 2050. In order to change energy systems and lessen dependency on fossil fuels, Balalaa underlined the scope and significance of this project. Balalaa’s speech also focused on the importance of technology in accomplishing renewable energy targets. “The development and deployment of advanced technologies are critical for realising these commitments,” he stated.
