His Excellency Daniel Noboa, the president of Ecuador, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, met at a high level in Abu Dhabi today to discuss extending bilateral cooperation in a number of strategic areas, such as trade, investment, renewable energy, sustainability, tourism, and agriculture.
The discussions, which took place at Qasr Al Shati, emphasized a shared commitment to furthering common goals and encouraging economic expansion and sustainable development in both countries. Sheikh Mohamed greeted President Noboa with open arms, congratulated him on his reelection, and expressed faith in his ability to lead Ecuador forward.
In order to strengthen the UAE-Ecuador alliance, both presidents underlined the need of expanding economic ties and looking for new prospects. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing peace, stability, and international collaboration as they discussed regional and global concerns.
“The UAE-Ecuador relationship is on a positive trajectory, with particular momentum in economic engagement,” Sheikh Mohamed said. He emphasized that a key component of the UAE’s global economic push is its larger policy of bolstering alliances with Latin American countries.
President Noboa expressed gratitude for the UAE’s hospitality and reaffirmed Ecuador’s eagerness to enhance its relationship with the Emirates, especially in areas of mutual benefit and long-term development.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking UAE officials, including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and multiple cabinet ministers across key portfolios such as economy, climate, infrastructure, education, and artificial intelligence. The Ecuadorian delegation also included senior ministers and government representatives, reflecting the significance both nations place on advancing diplomatic and economic ties.
