In a bid to bolster bilateral ties, the United Arab Emirates and Croatia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, tourism, and innovation-driven sectors.
H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, met with H.E. Ante Šušnjar, Croatia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, during an official European tour aimed at expanding strategic partnerships across key growth sectors. The high-level dialogue underscored shared ambitions to foster sustainable development and capitalize on mutual strengths.
Minister Bin Touq highlighted the UAE’s continued push toward economic diversification and openness, noting the country’s growing interest in forging partnerships with emerging European economies. He emphasized that Croatia presents promising opportunities, especially in areas such as clean energy, logistics, and the creative economy.
Tourism emerged as a major point of discussion, with both ministers recognizing its potential to generate shared value. Bin Touq pointed to the advantages of exchanging best practices in tourism development to enhance each country’s global appeal and competitiveness.
The talks also stressed the importance of cultivating an investor-friendly business environment. Bin Touq urged greater private sector engagement from both nations to explore untapped investment opportunities and deepen commercial linkages.
“We are keen to collaborate with Croatia on development policies that support sustainable economic growth,” said Bin Touq. “This comes in light of the recent momentum in trade and investment flows between our two countries.”
Other areas of cooperation explored during the meeting included infrastructure development, regulatory innovation, and enhanced connectivity between business communities. Both sides agreed to facilitate ongoing dialogue and partnerships that will pave the way for a resilient and future-focused economic relationship.
