Attending the International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference in Kazakhstan
At the 29th Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference in Almaty, the minister led the delegation from the United Arab Emirates. Following two days of talks, the event gave the UAE a chance to highlight its efforts to advance reforms in the energy sector through international collaborations.
Important International Treaties Mentioned in Al Mazrouei’s Speech
In his keynote address, Al Mazrouei emphasised a number of global alliances that the UAE had started. During COP28, the UAE and Kazakhstan struck a deal to develop a 1-gigawatt wind energy project, which is noteworthy as a major step towards increasing the capacity of renewable energy sources. Global goals for renewable energy are also aligned with other agreements, such as a memorandum of understanding to create low-carbon energy projects with a capacity of 10 gigawatts.

Al Mazrouei reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to achieving a balance between environmental preservation and industrial expansion. He underlined that the UAE is in favour of green policies and energy-efficient technology that both lower emissions and benefit the petrochemical sector.

The UAE is actively incorporating sustainable and renewable energy solutions into the petrochemical sector, which is in line with the nation’s long-term goal of becoming a low-carbon economy. Al Mazrouei met with Almasadam Sätqaliev, Kazakhstan’s energy minister, and Renat Bekturov, the governor of the Astana International Financial Centre, outside of the conference to talk about potential avenues for future collaboration in the energy sector.
