TotalEnergies Jordan is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment with a major donation of over 800 solar panels to leading humanitarian organizations across the country.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, the company is supporting three key non-profits—the Jordan Food Bank, Tkiyet Um Ali, and the Dar Abu Abdullah Association—in efforts to lower operational costs and transition toward renewable energy.
Powering Social Impact Through Clean Energy
The donation includes approximately 115 solar panels designated for the Jordan Food Bank. These panels are intended to power core operations, including the organization’s charity supermarket and administrative offices, ultimately helping reduce energy bills and improve efficiency. However, the installation will move forward pending successful fundraising for infrastructure and deployment.
In a broader partnership, TotalEnergies Jordan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tkiyet Um Ali, committing to donate 720 solar panels for upcoming projects led by the Dar Abu Abdullah Association in collaboration with Tkiyet Um Ali. The panels will be rolled out in stages, based on the evolving needs and schedules of the humanitarian programs.
A Strategic CSR Move Aligned with National Priorities
François Decherf, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Jordan, emphasized the strategic value of the initiative. “Supporting renewable energy is a core pillar of our social responsibility agenda,” he said. “We are proud to contribute to projects that not only serve humanitarian causes but also advance environmental sustainability.”
Decherf added that enabling non-profit organizations to adopt solar energy helps reduce their operational costs—allowing them to redirect resources directly to the communities they serve. He also underlined the private sector’s growing role in shaping community-focused models that combine charitable work with sustainable practices.

Dr. Kawthar Al-Qatarneh, Director General of the Jordan Food Bank, expressed gratitude for the donation and emphasized its potential to reduce reliance on conventional energy. “This contribution enhances our ability to expand services while moving toward a more sustainable operating model,” she said.
Echoing this sentiment, Samer Balkar, Director General of Tkiyet Um Ali, praised the initiative for its forward-thinking impact. “This strengthens our infrastructure and that of our partners, enabling us to adopt clean energy solutions that support the long-term sustainability of our humanitarian mission,” he noted.
