Sharjah, June 2, 2025 – His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, led the second meeting of the Sharjah Energy Council on Monday at the Ruler’s Office, reaffirming the emirate’s commitment to sustainable growth in the energy sector.
Also in attendance was H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Petroleum Department, along with key figures from the energy and utilities sectors.
The council reviewed progress on ongoing initiatives and discussed strategic plans to enhance the performance and sustainability of Sharjah’s energy and water sectors. Discussions centered on aligning local projects with international environmental standards, increasing capacity, and diversifying energy sources through clean and advanced technologies.
Members were briefed on recent developments, including the outcomes of international visits to countries leading in sustainable energy and water solutions. These insights are expected to influence future projects focused on expanding clean energy options and maximizing resource efficiency without compromising environmental integrity.
Among those present were Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of the Petroleum Department; Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA); and Hatem Diab Al Mousa, Secretary-General of the Energy Council.
The meeting underscored Sharjah’s dedication to driving innovation and sustainability across its energy infrastructure, aiming to support both economic growth and climate responsibility.
