Leaders in Regional Energy Will Gather in Ras Al Khaimah
On November 27–28, 2024, the Al Hamra International Exhibition and Conference Center will host the second RAK Energy Summit, which is being hosted by the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality and sponsored by HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and a member of the UAE Supreme Council. This historic gathering will bring together industry professionals and regional decision-makers to discuss important issues related to the GCC’s energy transition and decarbonization.
A Dedication to Sustainable Energy Objectives
The summit, which has as its theme “Create and Contribute to the Sustainable Energy Goals of the Future,” is sponsored by prominent institutions such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and Etihad Water & Electricity (EtihadWE). These collaborations demonstrate a shared dedication to promoting sustainable energy projects in the area.
Keynote Views on Innovation and the Energy Transition
Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Director General HE Munther Mohammed bin Shekar stressed the significance of the conference in advancing the conversation on energy transformation. “This summit addresses important energy challenges, building on the momentum of COP28 and with an eye toward COP29. It fosters collaborations among international leaders to ensure the region remains at the forefront of global sustainable energy developments,” he said.

Concerning the Municipality of Ras Al Khaimah and Its Energy Vision
Ras Al Khaimah Municipality was established in 1959 and has long been committed to giving its citizens a prosperous environment. The RAK Energy Efficiency and Renewables Strategy 2040 is being led by the municipality’s Energy Efficiency and Renewables Office (Reem). By 2040, this plan seeks to save 30% on energy, 20% on water, and 20% on renewable energy, demonstrating the emirate’s leadership in sustainable development.
