Developing Bilateral Relationships
Hammad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi, the UAE ambassador to Pakistan, was recently hosted by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to talk about potential joint ventures in the fields of tourism, green energy, IT, and economic growth. The two presidents stressed how crucial it is to strengthen bilateral ties in order to advance stability and development in the region.
Forming a Working Group
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif decided to form a working committee to improve Punjab’s relations with the United Arab Emirates at the meeting. This program seeks to improve economic cooperation and offer a venue for productive teamwork on important development initiatives. She invited UAE investors to invest in Punjab by providing them with exclusive incentives and a welcoming business climate.
UAE’s Contribution to Pakistan’s Development
Maryam Nawaz Sharif acknowledged the UAE’s contributions to Pakistan’s socioeconomic growth and conveyed gratitude for their assistance in areas including energy, infrastructure, health, and education. “Pakistan-UAE relations are based on mutual trust and respect, and both countries share a vision for stability and prosperity in the region,” she said.
Punjab’s development efforts are praised by the UAE.
Congratulating the Chief Minister on her successful tour to China, Ambassador Hammad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi highlighted her accomplishments in leading development projects and climate change measures. “The UAE envisions a developed Pakistan and supports its journey towards sustainable growth,” he said, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to Pakistan’s advancement.
Make Sustainable Development a Priority
The ambassador also underlined the UAE’s desire to work with Pakistan on new initiatives, especially those that complement the Punjab government’s emphasis on public-private partnerships for sustainable development.
Recognising Contributions from Journalists
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif thanked Arshad Ansari and other recently elected Lahore Press Club office bearers in a separate statement. “I am confident that the new leadership will work towards the welfare of the journalist community in Lahore,” she said, sending her best wishes.
