Greentechnewsme interview with Louise Bou Rached – Milestone Systems at Intersec 2025

In the evolving security and surveillance industry Milestone Systems is a pivotal player, which became clear in a recent interview.  Louise Bou Rached, the sales director for META at Milestone Systems, shared valuable practices and insights Milestone is taking towards an environmentally sustainable future.

Louise highlighted Milestone’s commitment to sustainability through intelligent solutions and tailored support to enhance operational efficiency. She emphasized the company’s role in key sectors such as government, infrastructure, and hospitality, focusing on efficiency and reducing environmental impact. At Intersec 2025, Milestone will showcase advanced technologies and live demonstrations, featuring AI, IoT, and analytics integrations to deliver actionable insights and stay ahead of evolving technology trends.

1) How is Milestone contributing to sustainability in the security and surveillance industry?

From Milestone’s perspective, we provide educational and integrative services, meaning that we tend to have a more rest-dependent style of our work, which would help us in the role of sustainability. Together with our intelligent solutions, we also tend to support our event customers, based on their tailored solutions, and how we improve their operational efficiencies, which add up to the bottom line of being more sustainable.

2) How is Milestone tailoring its solutions to meet the unique needs of the Middle East market?

As I’ve mentioned earlier, we’ve been taking part in this market for a long time, so we’re here to do the same. We have a lot of expertise from the Middle Eastern market. Our teams are also experts in different verticals, so we have been supporting a lot of governmental, and infrastructure projects.

Moreover, we’ve worked a lot on tailoring our solutions to the hospitality verticals, as well. From a sustainability perspective, we tailor those solutions to optimize each use case that our customers have, that will deliver their overall infrastructure with the least environmental impact on their partner, and all the costs that come along with it. Specifically, in our warmer countries, there are a lot of technicians needed to support the hardware behind it, and a lot of maintenance and power are needed as well. So, this is where our software brings in efficiency and requires less and less power and maintenance.

3) What role does Intersec 2025 play in Milestone’s strategy for regional engagement and growth?

Intersec 2025 is one of the biggest platforms in the region, as this is our 15th year exhibiting at Intersec we have seen it grow greater each year. It used to be just regional, but now we’re even seeing more of a global presence. You see people coming over from West Europe, Africa, the Middle East, a little bit more on the US side. I think the second biggest advantage Milestone has in ICS in the US compared to Intersec here, is that we use these platforms to showcase our latest technologies and innovations.

This year, we’re making it a little bit more special, where we’re exhibiting Milestone Systems through our community of partners and live demos of what the technology will look like and what type of insights our technology brings into the table, and supporting all these businesses to get slightly smarter with technology.

4) Can you share an example of how Milestone’s technology is driving real-world impact for customers in the region?

Technology growth, and there’s no better platform than Milestone to make a good future curve and support our customers in growing with the technology trends as this is our core business.

For most of our governmental and smart city projects initiatives that we had in hospitality with our clients, it grew from being just on a typical security need to more of an intelligent platform that they can rely on to deliver efficiently on their businesses and their overall operational practices. Introducing the AI aspect to our infrastructure, our platform, and our analytics from DeepCam or other analytics partners as well.

We added this capacity to bring in more actual insights that we are putting out, not just from the conventional cameras, but also the sensors, the IoT devices, all of that centralizing to our platform and bringing back these powerful insights that our customers are using.
