UAE — May 2, 2025, Abu Dhabi — By taking part in the Tamouh Al Dhafra Career Fair, which took place at the Baynonah Educational Complex in Zayed City from April 30 to May 1, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) reiterated its commitment to developing Emirati talent.
The goal of the career fair, which was solely focused on Emirati employment, was to close the gap between top employers and national job seekers. By educating local talent for highly sought-after positions in cutting-edge areas like nuclear energy, it advances the UAE’s larger goal of economic diversification.
ENEC representatives engaged with aspiring professionals, sharing insights into the corporation’s mission and its pivotal role in the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program. With over 3,000 employees—60% of whom are Emirati—ENEC continues to prioritize national capacity-building through robust educational and training initiatives.
“The Al Dhafra region lies at the core of the UAE’s clean energy future,” said H.E. Mohamed Al Hammadi, Managing Director and CEO of ENEC. “From the beginning, we have focused on developing skilled Emirati professionals who can sustain the Barakah plant’s operations and contribute to national progress. Events like this allow us to meet the youth, understand their aspirations, and introduce them to rewarding careers in the global civil nuclear sector.”
Through its involvement, ENEC is promoting STEM skill development and long-term job prospects by assisting in matching Emirati talent with the changing demands of the energy sector. Additionally, the project improves public-private cooperation and advances the socioeconomic standing of the Al Dhafra region.
Barakah, the first multi-unit nuclear plant in the Arab world, produces 40 TWh of electricity a year, which is sufficient to provide up to 25% of the UAE’s electrical needs. The plant, which is expected to remain active for at least 60 years, emphasizes the significance of ongoing talent development in order to guarantee long-term energy security and innovation.
