Dubai Holding Community Management and Etihad ESCO have signed a strategic partnership aimed at improving energy efficiency and accelerating sustainability initiatives across residential communities in Dubai.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Francis Giani and Dr. Waleed Al Nuaimi, reinforcing both organizations’ commitment to supporting the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative and Dubai’s Demand Side Management Strategy 2050.
Under the agreement, the two entities will work together on projects designed to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through enhanced monitoring systems, advanced metering technologies, and energy-optimization solutions.
The collaboration will focus on three main areas: the implementation of energy-efficiency projects, the expansion of solar energy adoption across communities, and knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at testing and scaling new sustainability solutions.
Francis Giani said the partnership represents a long-term commitment to creating a positive environmental impact while supporting Dubai’s broader energy-management objectives. He noted that Etihad ESCO’s technical capabilities would complement Dubai Holding Community Management’s efforts to promote sustainable utility management, operational efficiency, and environmentally conscious community living.
Dr. Waleed Al Nuaimi said the agreement aligns with Etihad ESCO’s mission to transform Dubai’s built environment through energy-efficiency solutions. He added that integrating solar power, retrofit programs, and smart metering technologies is expected to deliver measurable results in line with both Dubai’s demand-side management targets and the UAE’s national sustainability agenda.
Residents, homeowners, and business partners within communities managed by Dubai Holding Community Management are expected to benefit from improved energy-efficient systems, increased access to renewable energy, enhanced monitoring tools, and greater awareness of environmental performance.
The partnership forms part of broader efforts to support the UAE’s transition toward net-zero emissions by 2050 and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the country’s urban infrastructure.
