The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has reported a 17% year-on-year increase in the use of its Hab-Reeh smart platform during the first half of 2026, highlighting growing adoption of digital tools that support the emirate’s expanding renewable energy sector.
Developed to assist consultants and contractors working under the Shams Dubai initiative, the Hab-Reeh platform enables users to conduct self-assessments of photovoltaic (PV) solar system designs before submitting them for official approval. The digital process is designed to identify technical issues early, improving design quality and reducing delays.
According to DEWA, the platform has significantly shortened project assessment times while achieving a 100% compliance rate for submitted solar designs with the authority’s power quality standards. The system has also enhanced the efficiency of the application process by helping users resolve potential design issues before formal review.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DEWA, said the utility continues to invest in advanced technologies that simplify procedures for contractors, consultants, and strategic partners while supporting Dubai’s clean energy ambitions.
He noted that Hab-Reeh enables project developers participating in the Shams Dubai programme to validate the quality of their PV system designs before submission, helping accelerate approvals and ensuring compliance with DEWA’s technical requirements.
