As the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2025 Efficiency Partner, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is ready to highlight its innovative projects in smart technology, sustainability, and clean energy. DEWA will have a booth in Hall 5 (Energy Hall) at the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar)-organized summit, which is scheduled for January 14–16, 2025, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
An International Standard for Clean Energy is Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the biggest single-site solar park in the world created utilising the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, will be modelled by DEWA. By 2030, the park wants to generate 27% of Dubai’s energy capacity from clean sources, with 2,860 MW of production capacity already in place and another 1,800 MW planned.
Investigating Clean Energy in the Metaverse at the Sustainability and Innovation Centre
The Sustainability and Innovation Centre, housed within the solar park, offers guests a state-of-the-art, metaverse-enabled experience that informs them on the most recent developments in sustainability and clean energy technologies.
Leading Energy Efficiency Research and Development
Leading the way in clean energy innovation is DEWA’s R&D Centre. The centre enhances Dubai’s leadership in solar power, smart grids, and energy efficiency by submitting 42 patent applications and publishing 263 research articles that are indexed by Scopus.
Space-D Program: Advancing Utility Management via Satellite
DEWA is the first utility globally to use nanosatellites for operational efficiency, having launched the DEWA-SAT1 (2022) and DEWA-SAT2 (2023) nanosatellites through its Space-D program. The initiative improves the planning and administration of Dubai’s water and power systems.

Since its launch in 2014, DEWA’s EV Green Charger program has expanded to include more than 400 charging stations and 740 charging points throughout Dubai. The award-winning smart grid system from DEWA maximises load control, reduces transmission losses, and increases energy efficiency. It was recently honoured at the Asian Power Awards 2024 with the “Smart Grid Project of the Year – UAE” title.
