U.S.-based renewable energy developer Cloudbreak Energy Partners LLC has secured an investment from German energy services company Getec Energie Holding GmbH, providing additional financial support for its growing portfolio of solar and battery energy storage projects.
The companies did not disclose the value of the investment. Cloudbreak said the funding will help cover capital expenditures, project development costs and broader growth initiatives across its distributed and utility-scale solar and storage pipeline.
Part of the investment will support the development and construction of a 106-MWp solar portfolio that has been placed under safe-harbor arrangements. The funding is also expected to help Cloudbreak move toward becoming an independent power producer (IPP), expanding its role beyond project development.
For Getec, the transaction marks its first investment in the U.S. market. The German energy group brings experience in developing, owning and operating renewable energy infrastructure across European markets.
“Cloudbreak combines a strong project pipeline with deep expertise in solar and storage development, making it an excellent platform for our entry into the United States,” said Sven Suhr, managing director of Getec.
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Colorado, Cloudbreak develops distributed and utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the United States. The company says its current portfolio includes approximately 756 MWdc of projects under active development.
The investment gives Cloudbreak additional capital to advance projects through development and construction while providing Getec with an entry point into the expanding U.S. renewable energy and energy storage market.
