Beyon, a leading technology group headquartered in Bahrain, has announced the launch of its second fully green, solar-powered data centre. This milestone follows the completion of Phase 3 of the Beyon Solar Park, developed in collaboration with solar energy specialist Almoayyed Solar.
The recent project, valued at BHD 520,000 (approximately US$1.4 million), now powers Beyon’s Tier III-certified data centre in Hamala entirely through renewable energy. The solar installation spans over 13,000 square metres and is equipped with 2,588 high-efficiency solar panels. It produces around 2.5 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually, cutting down carbon emissions by 1,777 tons of CO2 each year.
Beyond environmental benefits, this development also boosts operational resilience. The solar-powered setup provides an added layer of backup power, operating alongside existing generator and utility feeds to ensure uninterrupted service and robust support for critical business operations.
This achievement comes shortly after Beyon revealed the completion of the Batelco by Beyon White Space Data Centre, a state-of-the-art facility covering 6,000 square metres within the 140,000 square metre Beyon Data Oasis located in southern Bahrain. This modern data centre is designed with flexible, technology-agnostic infrastructure suitable for a wide range of industries. With its enterprise-grade reliability, and redundancy in both power and cooling systems, it’s built to scale and support demanding workloads including AI, cloud platforms, hyperscale services, governmental operations, and large enterprise needs.
Fully aligned with Beyon’s sustainability vision, the new White Space facility is also directly powered by the company’s solar infrastructure, tapping into renewable energy to reduce environmental impact while maintaining high performance.
