Azizi Group Enters Energy

Dubai-based conglomerate sets sights on powering emerging markets, starting with Afghanistan

Dubai, UAE – In a strategic move that underscores its commitment to diversification and long-term impact, Azizi Group, a leading Dubai-based conglomerate, has launched Azizi Energy, a new venture aimed at developing power generation and energy infrastructure across emerging markets. The new entity, officially registered as Azizi Energy Investments LLC, marks the group’s expansion into the high-growth global energy sector.

A Vision Rooted in Sustainability and Growth

Azizi Energy will be headquartered in Dubai, serving as the central hub for the planning, financing, and execution of large-scale energy projects. With its initial focus on Asia—starting in Afghanistan—the company aims to address a critical need for reliable and sustainable energy sources in underserved regions.

Azizi Energy’s portfolio will span multiple energy segments, including coal, gas, hydro, solar, and wind power, along with essential energy infrastructure such as gas pipelines and electricity transmission networks. These efforts are designed to support economic development, enhance energy security, and reduce dependence on imported energy in emerging economies.

“The launch of Azizi Energy reflects our continued push to diversify and grow across high-impact industries,” said Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Group. “This new venture builds on our legacy in real estate and our belief in supporting communities through large-scale, future-oriented solutions.”

Ambitious Targets in Afghanistan

One of Azizi Energy’s most ambitious goals is the development of a 10,000 megawatt (MW) power generation mix in Afghanistan—a country where energy shortages have long hindered growth and stability.

Azizi Group aims to bring cleaner and more stable electricity to Afghan communities, helping power industries, improve quality of life, and lay the foundation for long-term development. The initiative reflects the group’s broader vision of combining commercial strategy with social impact.

Leadership with Global Energy Expertise

The new energy venture will be led by Korkut Öztürkmen, a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience in the global energy industry. His background includes leadership roles in both conventional and renewable energy, with a proven track record in project development, corporate strategy, and energy infrastructure across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

His appointment signals Azizi Group’s intention to make Azizi Energy a serious player in the global energy landscape, capable of executing complex and large-scale projects with international standards and sustainability in mind.

Meeting Global Energy Challenges Head-On

Azizi Energy is being launched at a time when emerging markets face a growing need for stable, affordable, and sustainable power. By leveraging advanced technologies and international partnerships, the company aims to tackle supply gaps that continue to act as barriers to growth in many developing regions.

The venture also aligns with global efforts to decarbonize and shift toward cleaner energy sources, without abandoning the practical needs of regions that still rely on transitional forms of energy such as coal and gas.

Registered as Azizi Energy Investments LLC, the company is focused on the development, financing, construction, and operation of power generation and energy infrastructure in emerging markets. Its work spans across thermal and renewable energy, pipeline systems, and grid transmission networks, with a mission to support energy independence and economic development.
