Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Begins UAE Visit to Boost Green and Digital Investments

Andhra Pradesh

Dubai, UAE — Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has begun a three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), aimed at attracting foreign investment in key growth sectors including green energy, digital infrastructure, and urban development.

The visit underscores Naidu’s renewed push to position Andhra Pradesh as a global hub for sustainable and technology-driven investments, while also strengthening economic ties between India and the UAE.

Reinforcing India–UAE Partnership

On the first day of his visit, Chief Minister Naidu met with A. Amarnath, Charge d’Affaires at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and Satish Sivan, India’s Consul General in Dubai, to discuss avenues for deeper bilateral collaboration at both national and state levels.

Naidu praised the rapid growth in India–UAE relations over the past decade, noting that strong diplomatic engagement under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has created a favourable environment for Indian states to attract strategic investments.

He highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has introduced a series of progressive, investor-friendly reforms to promote ease of doing business and create opportunities for global enterprises. The Chief Minister also cited Google’s investment in Andhra Pradesh as a major milestone that reflects the state’s emergence as a technology and innovation powerhouse.

Focus on Green Energy and Digital Infrastructure

A major theme of Naidu’s UAE mission is the promotion of renewable energy and digital infrastructure—two sectors central to both Andhra Pradesh’s development goals and India’s broader sustainability agenda.

During business meetings in Dubai, Naidu invited UAE-based investors and technology leaders to explore new partnerships in the following areas:

  • Renewable energy projects, particularly large-scale solar and wind power generation.
  • Data centre development, leveraging the state’s coastal advantage and robust digital connectivity.
  • Smart city and infrastructure initiatives in Amaravati and Visakhapatnam, focusing on sustainable urban planning and next-generation mobility.

The Chief Minister emphasized that these sectors align with India’s commitment to climate resilience and net-zero goals, as well as Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to become a leader in green industrial growth.

₹100 Crore Donation for Amaravati Public Library

One of the key highlights of Naidu’s UAE trip came through a major philanthropic gesture from Ravi P.N.C. Menon, founder and chairman of one of the UAE’s leading real estate groups. Menon pledged a ₹100 crore (AED 44 million) donation for the construction of a world-class public library in Amaravati, the planned capital of Andhra Pradesh.

The proposed library will serve as a modern knowledge and learning hub for students, researchers, and citizens, and is envisioned to become a landmark institution symbolizing the state’s commitment to education and innovation.

Menon, who hails from Kerala, lauded Naidu’s long-term vision for urban and social infrastructure, calling the initiative “a cultural investment that will benefit future generations.”

The project is expected to complement other infrastructure initiatives underway in Amaravati, including academic institutions, technology parks, and civic facilities designed to position the city as a model for smart urban governance.

A Broader Vision for Global Investment

Naidu’s UAE visit reflects a broader strategy to reintroduce Andhra Pradesh on the global investment map. His administration aims to attract long-term capital into high-growth, sustainable industries, while offering investors predictable policy frameworks, skilled human capital, and modern logistics networks through major ports and industrial corridors.

Officials accompanying the Chief Minister noted that the government plans to establish an exclusive investor facilitation cell for UAE-based enterprises interested in the state’s energy, IT, and infrastructure sectors.

“Dubai represents global ambition and innovation—qualities Andhra Pradesh shares,” Naidu said during his meetings. “Our goal is to build partnerships that not only create jobs and technology transfer but also accelerate our transition to a green and digital economy.”

Strengthening Bilateral Economic Ties

The UAE continues to play a vital role as one of India’s top trading and investment partners, with growing participation in renewable energy, ports, and logistics projects across several Indian states. Andhra Pradesh’s outreach adds to this momentum, demonstrating how state-level engagement can complement national economic diplomacy.

As Naidu’s visit continues over the next two days, further meetings are expected with UAE-based investors, business councils, and sovereign funds. The trip is poised to strengthen bilateral cooperation in clean energy, smart infrastructure, and technology-driven development—cementing Andhra Pradesh’s role as one of India’s most forward-looking investment destinations.
