Historic Solar Development Agreement
To begin the Rabigh 2 solar power project, TotalEnergies and Aljomaih Energy and Water Company (AEW) have signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC). A major step towards accomplishing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a national program to promote the use of renewable energy sources and lower carbon emissions, is this 300 MW project.

Rabigh 2 is a component of the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), which aims to lessen the nation’s dependency on gas and diversify its energy sources. Saudi Arabia is moving closer to its ambitious goal of producing 50% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 when the solar project is connected to the national grid in 2026.
Plans for Joint Ownership and Development
The solar facility will be jointly developed, owned, and operated by TotalEnergies and AEW under the terms of the agreement.
