ADDED Teams Up with Emirates Global Industries – Alfahim Group to Establish Electric Vehicle Production Plant

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has signed a deal with Emirates Global Industries – Alfahim Group to produce and assemble electric commercial vehicles (ECVs) in Abu Dhabi.

What To Expect From The ECV Manufacturing Plant Partnership?

In accordance with the agreement, ADDED will support Alfahim Group in setting up an industrial plant for building and assembling electric vehicles and buses. In line with the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy (ADIS), the facility will also work on developing energy storage and charging solutions for a range of industries and applications.

Abu Dhabi’s industrial hub is experiencing significant growth due to the collaborative efforts of key private sector players in the transportation and green solutions sector. This development and enhancement is paving the way for a more sustainable future. 

In addition, the new facility will offer specialized training and qualification programs designed specifically for UAE Nationals who are interested in pursuing careers in the ECV manufacturing sector.

The esteemed individual Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), was present at the signing ceremony of the MoU between ADDED and Alfahim Group.

The agreement also lays the groundwork for the establishment of regional ECV manufacturing projects by establishing plans to build manufacturing facilities that can accommodate the projected rise in demand for energy storage and charging networks.

With the goal of building a strong ECV manufacturing ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, ADDED will support Alfahim Group in strengthening its partnerships with global manufacturers. The agreement fits in well with Alfahim Group’s current partnerships with SANY, a leading Chinese company, and MCV, a leading Egyptian company.
